J.A.T.C. Requirements

In order to become an Apprentice Plumber, Welder or Steamfitter with Local Union 67, you must submit an application through the JATC.  Applications are accepted only once a year, if and only the need arises.

Step One

All applicants must provide a high school transcript  showing the subjects and marks, with a minimum of Grade 11.  Math, English and Science must be at the Grade 11 level, before an application for Steamfitter and Plumber is given out.  Welders must have a grade 12 diploma in order to apply.

Step Two

Each applicant will be required to complete a Mechanical Aptitude Test.

Step Three

Those receiving the top marks will be called for an interview.

Step Four

Those being accepted will be required to take a Safety and Orientation Seminar before starting their apprenticeship.
